Picasso Ingres: Face to Face
This focused, richly illustrated volume explores in depth Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres’s Madame Moitessier from the National Gallery, London, and Pablo Picasso’s Woman with a Book, a highlight of the Norton Simon collections. The publication is produced in conjunction with an exhibition of the same name that brought together these two, interrelated paintings for the first time.
Authored by Christopher Riopelle, the Neil Westreich Curator of Post-1800 Paintings at the National Gallery, London; Emily Talbot, the Chief Curator of the Norton Simon Museum; and Susan L. Siegfried, the Denise Riley Collegiate Professor Emerita of the History of Art and Women’s Studies at the University of Michigan.
