Sketchbook and Storytelling at the Norton Simon Museum

Learn how to enhance and expand your sketchbook practice in this six-part drawing series led by artist and educator Richard Houston. Discover how to develop a visual shorthand for rapid idea expression, strengthen observational skills and visual memory and build your own visual reference library. Each week, students will travel through various areas of the collection to learn about new approaches to visual storytelling and illustrate how developing a sketching practice can lead to continuous improvement.

Details: All levels of experience are welcome. This course (6 classes) is $180 ($144 for members) and missed classes are not reimbursable. Course cancellation must be made by March 7 to receive a refund. Please contact [email protected].

Classes are held on Fridays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. (skipping Free First Fridays).
