Virtual Teen Arts: 3D Landscapes (May 8, 2pm)

Date & Time: Sat., May 8, 2:00–3:00 p.m.
Instructor: Hanna Meshell

Explore landscapes in the Norton Simon’s collection and discuss the ways in which we interact with others and our surroundings now with artist and educator Hanna Meshell. Then, interpret your own environment by creating a 3D paper landscape. Students are encouraged to bring to the workshop images of their city, surrounding nature, friends and family (or pet). Designed for students ages 13–18.


  • Advance registration is required by an adult on behalf of the teen participating.
  • Teen Arts is a free, one-hour virtual program held on the platform WebEx. Participants will need to have the WebEx application installed on their device beforehand. It can be downloaded here.
  • A WebEx meeting link and additional instructions will be provided a week before the event. Participants will need to use a device with camera and internet access.
  • Materials will be shipped to participants who register at least two weeks in advance of the workshop.
  • Those who register late will need to gather the following materials for class:
    • Suggested reference images: images of your city, surrounding nature, friends and family (or pet)
    • 5 sheets of 8.5 x 11″ colored card stock (or colored paper)
    • 1 popsicle stick
    • Glue stick
    • Scissors
    • Color pencils (or markers)
    • Black marker (or pen)
