Marcel Duchamp Boite-en-Valise
Boite-en-valise (Box in a Suitcase) was assembled by Marcel Duchamp between 1935 and 1941. This portable miniature museum of works created by Duchamp was eventually produced in an edition of 300 between 1941 and 1968 (one of which is in the collection of the Norton Simon Museum).
In 2016 the French artist, Mathieu Marcier, under the supervision of the estate of Marcel Duchamp, created a first-ever reinterpretation of this now legendary book-object. The 2016 facsimile printing, published by Walther Konig, features an edition of 1500 copies with a limited quantity available in the U.S. market. This is the reprint edition which was published in 2020.
