John McLaughlin Paintings: Total Abstraction
“John McLaughlin Paintings: Total Abstraction” was published in conjunction with a 2016 retrospective exhibition at the LA County Museum of Art of this influential but under recognized Los Angeles-based artist. McLaughlin (1898-1976) was a self-taught painter of Japanese art-inspired hard-edged abstraction. His work was featured in a solo exhibition at the Pasadena Museum of Art in 1963, the collection of which is now a part of the Norton Simon Museum.
