John McCracken Sketchbook
John McCracken (American, 1934-2011) occupies a singular position within the recent history of American art, as his work melds the restrained formal qualities of Minimalist sculpture with a distinctly West Coast sensibility expressed through color, form and finish. Sketchbook, published in conjunction with a 2008 exhibition at the David Zwirner Gallery in New York, presents the first of two treasured sketchbooks that the artist used from the mid-1960s until the mid-1970s. The format, paper and reproduction quality of the book have been designed to faithfully reproduce in facsimile the original pages from this fascinating document.
This is a rare, out-of-print monograph, available as a first edition. It is in fine condition and signed by the artist.
