Rembrandt and the Expressive Line:
Rembrandt, generally considered the most important artist of the 17th century, was skilled in the art of the expressive line, as best seen in his etchings. In this class, participants will examine Rembrandt’s mark making and the varied ways in which he used line in his etchings. They will then apply these approaches to drawing from his paintings in the collections.
All levels of experience are welcome. Each class is $25 ($20 for members), and space is limited to 12 participants. All materials and admission to the galleries on the day of class are included.
