Sakura is a Japanese word meaning "flowering cherry tree." The cherry blossom is Japan's national flower and they are pictured in several of the woodblock prints of Ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Hiroshige. This CD brings together a delightful collection of traditional Japanese folk songs and classical instrumentals in celebration of this treasured flower.
