Dutch-born food historian Peter Rose and Hofstra University-based curator Donna Barnes organized an exhibition at the Albany Institute of History and Art in 2002 on the representation of food and drink in 17th-century Dutch painting. This beautifully-illustrated book, which also features a supplementary cookbook by Peter Rose on 17th-century dutch cuisine, was published to accompany the exhibition.
